I got my hands on an HPFP pulled from a 2012 Mini Cooper S that was in a wreck. I don't have date of manufacture on the Mini or the HPFP, but am wondering if the HPFP's date of manufacture is embedded in the codes stamped on it. The HPFP seems to sustain pressure based on scan tool readings and performance, but sometimes it dips just a smidge below annnnd...

Trying to Google/etc search for anything that contains "date," "code," and "HPFP" turns up a flood of HPFP stories and parts to buy rather than much about how to interpret all the stuff stamped on the thing.

Anybody know how to read what's stamped on the part to get the manufacture date?

 

You can probably get a good idea by looking up the VIN of the donor car, and cross checking on realoem.com

 

Yeah... seems I'm having some difficulty getting a hold of that VIN. Otherwise I totally would be doing that!

Would love to know if there is a way to extract a manufacture date on the pump proper. I can tell I'm going to have to replace it anyway, but now my curiosity is all over this
