Cold Start Stalling

Hi guys...

My 07 MCSa with 45500 miles sometimes stalls on cold startups. If I give gas when starting up and I rev it to 2000rpm it works fine. It does not stall on idle or anything else.

The only codes stored are for misfire on cylinder 2 and 4, which only registered once out of the 3 times it actually did it (0x2779 and 0x277D).
Fehlerhäufigkeit: 1
Logistikzähler : 39
Kilometerstand 73310 km
Gefilterter Drehzahlgradient (ngfil) -100.00 1/min/s
Ist-Betriebsart (bdemod) 1.00
Korrigierte Segmentdauer (tsk_l) 32768.00 us
Istwert Raildruck (prist_w) 1.47 MPa
Verbrennungsaussetzer mit Zylinderabschaltung
Testbedingungen erfüllt Fehler momentan nicht vorhanden, aber bereits gespeichert
I'm guessing it's a fuel supply issue. I've already ordered a replacement fuel filter, which will see if it helps.

Is there a method in INPA or Tool32 to measure the fuel rail pressures? My INPA configuration only shows live Lambda and air mass values, but I do not see any fuel pressures.

Any help, greatly appreciated!!

A small update: I'm still waiting for my fuel filter to arrive, but in the meantime I used a can of BG44K. I let it in the tank for 24hr before driving off. The car started fine and drives really smoothly. I'll keep an eye on it and see how it goes. But I was surprised, as I did not expect it to do anything useful.

Another Update:

I got the fuel filter and went on to replace it. However I couldn't get the black cap off the bodywork!! I tried prying it up but it would appear it is glued somehow, as I ended up denting the bodywork !! :(

Has anybody had to deal with this?? It just seems odd that the plate would be glued onto the bodywork.

Curious, have you checked the condition of your spark plugs?

I'd pull them, clean them and make notes.

Thanks @ecstuning. However the issue I'm having is with the black cap with the 5 M10 bolts. It just will not budge... From the other posts I saw, it seemed fairly easy to lift up. The bolts come out fine, but the cap seems to be either stuck out glued into place...

OK... Managed to get it off today. Has to use a hammer with a bend head as a lever. The seal was stuck on the body.

So thanks to all the useful posts on this forum (and others), I managed to change my filter!! The car hesitated at first, but did start on itself first time round. It does seem to start up easier now and idles smoothly.

Let's hope it stays like this and it does not turn out to be the HPFP...

Again thanks to everyone!!!
