Can't reset codes.
Hi, well I'm new to the forum, and I did a brief search to see if anyone has my problem.
First off, I'm the owner of a 2011 Clubman S, but I'm also the owner of an Actron CP9125 scan tool (about the cheapest thing out there). Well, I can't reset trouble codes using this tool on my Clubman. The tool works ok with my '97 GMC and the Mrs' 05 Civic. Is there a trick to get them to reset. Currently, I was dealing with the code P053A, which dealt with the sensor right before the turbo. I fixed this and got the "pending" message to go away, but still can't reset the code remaining. I've had this problem before with a misfire, but was able to get it reset by a friend, am I relegated to another scan tool for this? |
Welcome to NAM. It could be the scan tool that is your issue. You may want to try asking your friend to reset it again. This will help determine if it is in fact your scan tool that is the issue. Otherwise, I've posted a few good threads for you below that might help as well. Good luck!

Either the problem is still pending, your scan tool isn't able to clear the codes, or if you have an automatic the codes are caught in the TCM as well and need a quality tool to clear them.
