Passenger door won't open from the inside or outside.
 

The passenger door on my 2002 Mini Cooper will not open from the inside or outside. I replaced the actuator. The door then did open from the inside and outside a couple of times. I was about to put the door panel back on. Now the door doesn't open again?? The door unlocks and locks. I checked all the cables. All the cables are attached and working, but the door still isn't opening. Faulty actuator??? Is there some kind of reset?? Fuse?? Help.

UPDATE: I broke down and took the Mini to a shop. Turns out the exterior passenger side handle was bad. It was preventing the latch from opening from both the inside and outside. The cable from the exterior handle to the actuator was also slightly stretched. $62 for a handle and $11 for a new cable. The door is now opening and closing as it should.

yeah that short little cable is attached / comes with the exterior handle... Thanks for the update !

Just for reference it looks like this for the cable attached to the handle. Then there is the cable that goes from the lock to the inside handle. Chrome version linked below for the handles , there are also checkered and Union Jack version door handles. .
