Mini won't start, redux
 

Changed timing chain and now the Mini won't start. Used cam/crank lock tools to keep time, no problematic sounds while cranking by hand or starter motor but the car won't start. Ran fine prior to changing the chain

We have spark, and we smell fuel but the car just won't start, timing shouldn't be off at all, even if it were off by a tooth, I'd expect rough running, not a no-start. We have a compression tester but the adapters are all the wrong size

Ideas?



Edit:: We got a compression tester to check compression – it's really good....so all that's left to check is fuel for sure. But beyond testing the in-tank to HPFP pressure, I'm not sure what else I can do. We smell fuel in the cylinders when we pull the plugs and the car ran just fine prior to putting it up on stands last weekend
