Help !?! Cooper auto won't drive , rolls in park , steering doesn't lock
Ok ,
I have a 2007 Cooper automatic . It won't move in any gear ( although I can start it and go through all gears). Also I noticed that when it is in park it will still roll freely forward and backward And the steering doesn't lock ( yes the key is out of it ) . Any suggestions ???? I really really really don't want to take it to the dealer , I have had and heard to many horror stories about them and they are the only dealer within 3-4 hours ! |

If you have steering column pedals, do they activate gear shifts? From what you told us, it sounds like the gearbox is stuck in neutral. Best case scenario - your shift selector's cable is broken or detached: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...48&hg=25&fg=20 If you don't want to take the car to the dealer, do you have the tools and the place to investigate yourself? If not, consider searching for a local independent to do the triage. Good luck, a |
