Wheel bearing replaced. New metal sound.

I took my mini in to get my wheel bearing replaced. The loud grinding sound did go away, but as a few days went by a metal spinning sound began from faint to now obvious. Its sounds like maybe something of dry metal that maybe needed lubricant or grease. Doesn't sound the same as when the wheel bearing was bad but the sound cuts in and out as i hit bumps or if the car bounces on the freeway. It does only happen when the car is moving tho. Any ideas?

I'd check to see if a brake disc heat shield is touching the disc.

Thats what i was thinking. Anyone know if a wheel bearing hub was not tight enough that it will make this sound as well?

I suppose that a loose hub could make noise but that would be hard to do. There are 4 bolts so all would have to be loose. There are torque specs for those bolts but I suspect that it is more likely that it is overtightened with an air gun than left loose with a ratchet.

Check the dust shield.
Check the torque setting on the axle nut, should be 134lbs for the purists, or HOLYHELLTHATSTIGHT for the rest of us.
Check the tire for uneven wear.

+1 on the front dust shield touching the rotor.

They might have bumped the brake shield protection plate. If its a scraping noise. Check the shield first. It set close to the rotor and can get bent in a little if someone bumps it , then touches the back side of the rotor. It can be bent back a little to clear, unless its really bent up.

Looks like this #9.
