Computer won't see transmission computer

I got bmw software, and the EGS/ transmission computer is greyed out.

2000 error in EDIABAS or in ECU description file {SGBD} IFH-0003: datatransmission to interface disturbed 07flash
2000 error in EDIABAS or in ECU description file {SGBD} DATEN_REFERENZ

I got a new transmission computer, tried to change the vin, and update software, but new one is greyed out also.

I am thinking a bad wire connection going from the main computer to the tranny computer, or faulty main computer, but don't know how to tell.
