2003 5-speed Tranny Problem

I'm new here, but I've read a HUGE thread dedicated to talking about this issue. I just got my car last August with no knowledge that my transmission had the high probability of going out. It's my first car that I'm paying for, and I would really hate to get rid of it so soon.

My car is still running, so I took my car to a third-party mechanic, and he confirmed that it was a tranny problem. If I was to have him repair the parts/seals would it be worth it?

tl;dr Does anyone still currently own a 2003 Mini Cooper?
