when AutoStartStop isn't functioning...
 

Yesterday the ASS, wasn't functioning and i also noticed that neither was over-boost working and a lack of power. Is there a guide what to check when ASS isn't working properly?

Where are you located? The Auto Start/Stop feature is still not available in the US.

The Auto Start/Stop system is conservative and doesn't engage unless conditions are good for it to operate. Here's a list from a BMW forum:
If the computer detects any fault in the engine (you say lack of power), it will probably disable Auto Start/Stop.

The list was posted by a BMW owner, from his Owner's Manual. You should look in your MINI Owner's Manual. As I said, MINI doesn't have Auto Start/Stop in the US, so it's unlikely we can offer much advice about it in this forum. Although it isn't in MINI in the US, BMW does have it here. You can look at the BMW 3-Series Owner's Manual (pages 61-63). It isn't the exactly same system as on your MINI and you should look at your own Owner's Manual.

In general, though, the nature of Auto Start/Stop is that if it isn't working, it is more likely because it has disabled itself due to some condition of the engine or car, rather than the system itself malfunctioning.

I am aware that it can be due to some condition and thats what i want to find out, what condition might that be? Out of the 11 conditions only "e" seemed logic at the time. Now ASS starts working again so i guess "e" is not it, cause if it was the battery it should keep ASS down permanently. What else could it be, its so puzzling!! :mad:

Nobody in the US has Auto Start/Stop on their MINI, and there isn't much knowledge about it here. Try asking in a European/UK MINI forum, or a BMW forum.
