Option code 0B42
Option code 0B42
I have a previously used 2008 Mini Cooper S. Last time I took it into Service I was looking over the Option list in the Warranty Vehicle Inquiry report and noticed one with Code 0B42 named “cold-climate version”. Does this come in all Minis? I don’t have heated seats or heated mirrors, nor do I really need them because I live in a warm tropical climate all year round.
I just wanted to know what was this.

They wouldn't give me a copy, because the car had a previous owner (lame excuse), so I just took pictures of the report.
While I'm at it, what exactly is the Code 0694 "CD changer preparation"? I don't have the CD changer.

I know some manufacturers taylor their cars to a region....cold package might just indicate a slightly larger battery (some makes do this) or other things they do cause the car might get driven in cold climates due to the place it is sold. Remember, mini is a global company, so some items that seem standard might not be placed on every car worldeide..or the parts bolted on might meet different specs.
Congrats on the car!!
