No reverse lights.....

Went for my inspection today and the reverse lights are not working.

My thoughts are check the fuse, check the lamps...what else could cause this?

Does anyone know what the fuse location position is and where it is housed?

Thanks,
Mark

Maybe the sensor in the shifter? Just throwing that out there because thats the only other thing I could think of.

try a bulb first...

Fuse F13- which i think is under dash... if good, use a multimeter to check voltage at the reverse lamp socket; use ohmmeter to check continuity on the ground circuit. if no power; check power at the reverse lamp switch located on top of the transmission- sort of under the shift weight assembly and probably easiest to reach it underneath the car. if you have power at the switch, replace reverse lamp switch. If no ground at the reverse lamp socket, trace ground path for open circuit.

The switch is located on the transmission, and I believe that it's accessible through the driver's side wheel well once the car is on jack stands.

One thing to check....
The 05+ facelift cars SHOULD have the backup lights that are built into the rear brake light housing...not the center lower bumper like older gen1 mini's....
I have seen a post or two of folks installing the older tailights in the newer gen1 mini's.....
if you have had the car for a while, then this obviously is not the issue....
And a reminder pete at Greasysgarage over in Worcester is great witu mini's if you get stuck and need a pro to work on it!!
