r53 cold start loss of power HELP PLEASE
So i have been having trouble with my 2002 cooper s , it doesnt like to start cold and generally has a loss of power . The loss of power seems to come and go , when its at its worst the engine surges and really struggles .
I have just picked it up from a local mechanic who specialises in bmw who didnt really give me confidence as he diagnosed the issue as the bearings gone in the supercharger ..wahhht .. which i cant see how addresses the cold start issue .He ran some tests and the supercharger is runnning at 15 psi under load ( normal ? ) and the fuel pressure is 47 psi at idle .
The engine will start first time it warm and idles fine .
Im in NSW, Australia so it doesnt get below about 3- 4 degrees celcius .
Also if i only let the engine crank for a second for the first two times it will start the third time .
Is it likey i just need a new fuel pump and filter ?
appreciate the help
