Help!! Mini won't start, smells electrical??!!

Help! :eek2: I went to start my 2003 MCS 104K, It will turn over, but not start. It doesn't sound right when you turn the key. It also had a electrical smell. I only tried 2 times to start it. Does anyone have any suggestions?? Starter??
There is not a Mini Dealer where I live. The closest if 120 miles.

It's possible that your battery doesn't have enough amps to get the starter turning over properly. The other issue would be the starter motor could be worn out.

it could be many things, the only way to tell is to eliminate options. You could have your battery tested, it if its 100% full and working it is probably your starter or a bad cable. It could be your alternator but if the battery is full i would doubt that. The thing that troubles me is if the starter is 100% out then it shouldn't even turn over, so either a component in it is bad or it is wiring or something else all together. If there is a BMW dealership close take it there. If not I would take it to a trusted shop. Odds are it would be hard for you to diagnose the problem without the proper tools. But first i would take the battery to auto zone and have it tested.
