Loss of Power to wheels over 3,000 RPM (R50)

I have a 2003 R50 with 165,000 miles on the clock. Lately it has been giving me trouble in any gear where if I try and give it a good amount of gas, it stops sending power to the wheels and just revs to the limit, almost like if I had pushed in the clutch (which I didn't) I would like to say that it is the clutch going out, but wanted to make sure first. The clutch is original, as is the transmission. Any help would be appreciated!
