'06 MCS, first DSC, followed by SES light - rough idle, what's up?

I noticed my DSC light had come on the other day, and figured I had accidentally turned off DSC, so I was surprised when the toggle didn't turn off the light. For about a week or so now, especially when the car has been started within the past few hours, the SES light is on when I start the car. After it has been sitting overnight, the lights often don't come on right away, or at all sometimes for my short (~10 minute) work commute. A few times I've noticed that after the SES light has been on for a bit, the DSC light will come on as well. It has also been idling more roughly than I seem to remember, and more prone to stalling upon first starting it. I figure it's a sensor, but I'm certainly no mechanic.

I will add that the car has 46k miles, and as far as I know (unless Mini did this within the first 36k miles of free maintenance), the air filter, fuel filter, or anything else like that hasn't been changed. I know those items haven't been changed for the past 2-3 years anyway. Could those be posing problems?

Any ideas before I shell out cash to a shop to check it out? Thanks in advance

I've had this checked out, and it's apparently a faulty camshaft position sensor. I did some searching around online, and have found a number of people who had the same error code (when running the diagnostic), yet when they replaced the sensor, the problem persisted. Crossing my fingers that this isn't the case for me.
