Intermittent CEL

All,

I have encountered an unusual CEL issue. The day that my warranty ran out (of course) I was accelerating on the highway (engine under high load) and my CEL came on with the noticeable reduction in power (limp-home mode). Instantly checked to make sure the gas cap was tight as one might expect and it was fine. Then I thought it might just be a tank of bad gas so I waited to refill it with some better Shell 93 octane and that did fix it either. The unusual part is that it is intermittent. I can go several trips in the car without it coming on and it drives perfectly, but I put heavy load on the engine and it comes back on and cuts the power. I tried having the code read at Autozone with one of their little readers but it didn't show anything coming up, even with the light illuminated. Short of bringing it into the dealer and having them diagnose it for me, any thoughts on what could be causing this?

Thanks ahead of time.

My '07 MCS is doing the same thing. Yellow CEL on after heavier acceleration. When you turn the engine off then on again it goes off. Anyone have the same problem.

Save yourself some time and money and get the code.

Could be anything from a faulty pressure converter, electric valve or bad turbo.

Nearest dealer is two hours away. Autozone reader gave no code, same for advanced auto parts. Found one error in hidden menu, it was 9314h. Can not find any direction ogf what that may be.

Check with someone in this club.

Maybe they can point you in the direction of a shop learned in MINI repair.
