Radio doesn't turn on all the time
 

My wife's radio wont turn on sometimes on her R56. It weird because I turn on the car, and the radio won't turn on but if I hook up my iPod, it works fine. It seems to only be the radio. It also only happens when it wants to. It happened all last week, but it hadn't happened for the whole month prior. We bought the car about four months ago; it's an '11. The first month was fine but right around the second month is when the radio wouldn't turn on when we would start the car. Then it would turn on while you were driving about five minutes later. It's never turned off while we've been driving; only when you start the car. And once it finally decides to turn on, it stays on. And it doesn't happen all the time either; like I said before, we had gone a whole month of it not happening. Anyone having a similar problem? This isn't my car so I don't really know all the details, but if you need more information, I can certainly give it.

warranty?

sounds like a bad connection on the power side, probably in some multi-wire plug.

I'd be back at the dealer tho cuz if you futz with it yourself and THEN decide to call warranty .... well, you will have opened the window of opportunity for dealer arguement.

My amp went bad at 5k miles. It could be an amp issue. Just take it in to the dealership.

Word of warning: The amp took 3 weeks to come in, and now I'm having to wait on the check valves for the weeping windshield washers.

I have the same exact issue with my '11 MCS. Have not taken it in for this yet.

On my '11 with HK, I've occasionally had an issue where I start the car, the radio lights up like normal on the big speedo, but get no sound. I press a tuner button to flip to a different station, and get sound. Then flip back to the original station and get sound. Wierd, and only happens occasionally.
