TPS and DSC light on won't reset
 

If my search of the forums are correct then it means a low tire presure sensor has gone bad. Does anyone know how to tell which one?

The 2003 doesn't have Active Tire Pressure sensors, the Pressure is derived by using the ABS sensors (if all tires are turning at the same speed, they have the same circumference, thus they should all have the same pressure). Usually, TPS and DSC lights (but no ABS light) points to an issue with the Steering Angle sensor. Have you had any suspension work done recently? Is the steering wheel aligned properly when the wheels are pointing straight ahead? If so, that is the problem, if not, the sensor is probably bad.

No changes to the car since purchase. Nothing has changed.
Steering wheel is fine, drives straight.

One thing noticed about two months ago, If I give it too much throttle from a dead start it pulls to the right for a second. I have thought it was odd. Perhaps not related.

Today I took it to the GMC dealer my wife works at and a friend hooked it up to their best computer. No codes....

I tried a few things I read about from another forum. Regarding pulling the DSC fuse and tricking it into turning the lights out... Didn't work.

The lights came on Thursday of last week and have not gone off.

Will a BMW shop diag. Computer give a code?

I had a bad tire that was causing it to pull to one side. I don't know if there was a code or not. However, once the tire was fixed, the light went out by itself.

now that is not a bad idea to check out. I HAVE also noticed a louder noise comming from the right front area. sounds like a slight vibration or low hum almost a grinding noise, but not metallic, Its sometime louder than other times.

I will take it do the tire shop across the street today and see what they think.

Keep in mind though that the lights cannot be reset, and they turn on at engine start. I would think if it is a bad tire it would go away then come back when driving.

I took it in to the local tire/front end shop he said it was definitely a wheel bearing going out. Still makes me wonder if it will help with the tps/dsc light but I guess we will see.

369.00 to replace including labor. It will take about 1 week to get the part. I will report back if it helps the light situation.

Yesterday the local tire shop finally replaced my wheel bearing. now I have a question.

Will the TPS and DSC go out by themselves after awhile? or do I have to take it to a Mini dealer to reset it? is there any way I can reset it myself?

No the wheel bearing replacement did not fix it.

But I did take it to a local import mechanic who said my steering angle sensor and brake pad sensor were throwing a code. Of course he didn't give much detail because he didn't want me to fix it myself.

So far t lights are stillnon, because it has been to hot out to fix.

It is possible your DSC sensors inside the steering column are bad. It happened to me on the R56.
