Me too, maybe that explains my cold start rattle, failing hpfp and a new weird howling noise when reversing!

44. Obviously, they let people demo it. I did not specifically order the car. I bought it 'off the lot'.

When we 1st saw Molly she had 0 (zero), and had just come off the Covered Wagon, packaging material intact. 1 week later at Delivery she had 23, Fuel Stop and Clear Bra Install (not done @ Dealer)!!

RJKimbell,
Interesting that your car had zero on the odometer. Prior to your post, I would have thought that zero miles would have been impossible since I understand all Mini's have a short test drive at the factory... Maybe that's not true in all cases. tvanhouten |

I'm not sure what the dealer's diagnostic equipment can read, but the equipment used at the assembly plant shows what the actual mileage is in the ecu. It is usually a bit higher than what is shown in the cluster due to a reset. Every vehicle is run on a dyno a certain distance at various speeds.
The number of engine starts might also suprise you (sometimes between 40-50 by the time it gets to the dealer.) |
1 mile on the Clubbie. I can't remember what the 07 MCS had.

Mine had 6 and I bought it off the showroom floor after sitting at the dealer for a year. :)

Whenever I do a pre delivery inspection on a new car I put 5-7 miles on the car to ensure that I can get through all the gears and make sure no wind noises are present. 90% of them go fine but I've found a few things that would have returned fairly quickly had it not been for the lengthy test drive.

5 miles on the clock for me
|
mine had 8
|
7 on mine
|
6 here too.
|
2kms on mine, or 1+ mile
|
15 on mine.

I just went back and checked the OL and El Kabong had 7, guess I'll see when Mozart gets here.

I have no idea if it is still true, but when I was a BMW dealer, the factory set the vehicle at minus mileage. You could drive the vehicle several miles to reach the zero point. This was to accomodate for test mileage at the factory, moving on and off the shipping facilities, and PDI mileage.

6. Then I put two miles testing it
I wish I had taken a pic of mine when I first got in it. I already knew I wanted it. |
I think 8 on the '08 and 33 on the '11 but that included a test drive and trip to lunch in it before I took possession.
|
Mine had 14 miles and wife's had 6 miles.
|
Mine was a zero-zero-niner, good buddy.
