So is Mushrooming a problem on R55,56's???

So I searched for the Answers but I could not find a definitive one! Is mushrooming still a problem for R55 and R56 models? Do I need to get one of those reinforcing plates like M7 for my MINI?

No if you search you find this answer in many different threads. This is a 1st gen problem only

I have yet to hear of a confirmed case. It seems BMW realized their design flaw in the 1st gen cars and improved on it. Even so, I don't see any reason not to take precautions and get some defenders.

I did some research in the forums but I find different answers, also I find out the M7 has one specifically made for 2nd generation and that made me wonder if there is still any design problem in that area! in the otherhand four years should be enough time for this issue to surface and creates some discussions on 2nd generation cars!!!
