Squeaky driver's seat - 2007 Cooper

This past summer the driver's seat in my 2007 Cooper, which I bought used in November 2009, started quietly squeaking over sharp bumps. Now, it's gotten to the point that it creaks when taking slow corners to the left or right, and I'm wondering if this is the springs or a mounting bolt.

Does anyone else have squeaky seats? Since my car is under the original warranty until June 2011 and even has the Canadian MINI NEXT warranty, I wonder if a squeaky seat would be covered. Considering how good the dealer has been already - they went to the trouble of fixing a dash squeak by completely removing the dash and installing felt spacers - I guess I can hope...

Make sure it is tight. There are no springs in the mounting of the seats or any kinda of sound deadening.

My seat creaks when I lean back in it right after getting into the car. I am wondering if this is fixable or under warranty.

Well, as Popeye might say, this is embarrassking. I raised the seat by less than one sweep of the seat-height lever, and the squeak has, for the most part, gone away....

I had a squeaky seat problem too, although it may be a different kind of squeak. It happens when I take corners or go over bumps as well. The squeak I've been experiencing is more like a rubber on rubber squeak, rather than a loose bolt squeak.

I have found out that it's the female end of the seat belt is creating the noise while rubbing against the seat. By adjusting the seat height or adjusting the position of the female end, I can get the noise to stop. I think attaching some soft fabric on the part will silence the squeak.
FYI I have leather seats.
