I'm having a tough time getting the air out of my cooling system

There are a couple of threads on this subject already, but some of the advice is contradictory, so I'm hoping one of you can provide a straightforward procedure.

I have a 2002 Cooper. I replaced the thermostat and expansion tank and changed the coolant. The car doesn't overheat, but I hear gurgling when I stop that wasn't there before, so I'm assuming I didn't get all the air out when I bled the system.

Appreciate the help.

Im assuming you used the bleed screw on the hose at the front on the passenger side and refilled the reservoir as needed until all air-sputtering stopped?

Yes. Also the bleed screw on the heater hose left of the battery. One thing I noticed is that the reservoir seems to stay full no matter how much coolant leaks from the bleeder hoses.
