Throwing code that doesn't match symptoms?
2004 MC with 95,000 miles.
The service engine light is on. My independent all makes mechanic clears the code and it returns when I get gas. The problem seems to be related to the the gas tank surge valve or attendant hoses. The code that gets tripped however is p2097 "post catalytic converter fuel trim bank 1- too rich. He asked me to ask the experts on this site for some ideas. He also said that I could drive the car but was destroying the environment and courting bad karma. Mark PS Perhaps related; I have a slight mis-fire. Clearly a bad spark plug boot. |
All these views and no reply's? Somone must be able to puzzel this out.

First thing you MUST get the mis fire fixed... there is a LONG service bulletin on that code. Just performing the service bulletin is hours of labour. BUT a misfire can be related as the bulletin refers to fuel adaptions and running values. Fix Misfire, clear code and go from there
