Today I was out working and enjoying my motoring time, when I stopped to drop off something. I came out started the engine and took off, as soon as I hit 1500 rpms the engine started to whistle or whine and when I'm stopping and drop below 1500 rpms the sound stops. ANYBODY ELSE HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE?? :???: :???:

I have an S and haven't noticed a whine at 1500 although my wife starts to whine about 5700 and up

Maybe it's the blower? I bought a new turbo charged car a couple years ago and could not hear the thing until about 2,000 miles.
If in doubt, have it checked out - warranty Even if the dealer says "it's normal" you have something in writing saying they checked it out.

 

This is a high pitched whistle and will be taking it to the dealer on Saturday to have checked out. I think it has something to do with the supercharger as all systems seem to work well and performance is excellent. I hope it''s an easy fix. I Love my MINI and very pleased with the entire automobile.

 

Hopefully it is just the normal SC whine. Good Luck

Mine also whistles.....it's faint, but I notice it.

I just assumed it was the supercharger.
