2005 Mini Won't Start

I just joined...nice site...the issue concerns a 2005 Mini that won't start. I looked at the other threads of similar nature and can't find my situation. Hopefully someone will be able to help.

The car is put up for winter and not driven. So went out to start. Nothing, click. Bought replacement battery which around here is not easy to do...and still don't think it was the right one as it was short int the battery bin. Started couple of time then clicking. Charged old battery and put back in...clicking and headlights flash then passenger side headlight stays on.

Haven't taken to service yet. Closest dealer is in Pittsburgh. Haven't tried roll start - tomorrow could get people to push and see if that works. Thing that is odd...clicking AND headlights flashing.

Anyone with a suggestion?

Well....Installed Optima 34R and viola....now that battery is not easy to find in this state and had to drive two hours to get it...plus $200...but she's running. Still would like to know if the flashing lights is a signal or sign of anything. Had BMWs and Mercedes and never experienced that with them.

Hi, just joined. I am having the same problem including flashing lights. Did you find out what was causing this?

No replies....I'm hoping it was just a weak battery, but no one else has jumped in and talked.

Couldn't get mine started even with jumper cables. The electrical all seems to be working. Getting it towed to the shop to get it checked:confused:

That's odd with the lights... Have you checked to see if you're getting an error code? Any Autozone or similar can read the code from the port (if you can get the car there that is). Once you have the code, Google it, and you can generally pinpoint the issue pretty quickly.
