What is the diff. between the Deltran unit and the BMW logo'd unit..other than it's price..??

I have the same basic unit in my truck. Works well, does not over charge, has two LEDs, one for power, and another one for 'charged'. Mine, however, is labelled 'Power Start', aka Wal-Mart's house brand!

I agree with Greatbear. When all you are doing is maintaining a good population of electrons in your battery, there is no need to spend any more on a trickle charger than necessary.

I'd suggest whatever is the cheapest trickle charger available at a discount or auto parts store, as I am "positive" that non-bmw electrons will not have any "negative" effect upon your battery "D

I know this is a link to a Motorcycle parts website (and one I use often among others) but will any of these work?

I don't know the prices or spec's on what the MINI uses. I was just thinking about geting one for my bike. I have never needed one before, sinceeven here in NJ, my winterizing is just put bike on race stands after a good full tank of stabilzer and gas, then a run in for 20 minutes every 2 weeks and then back up on the race stands.

Just tossing it out there.
