'05 driver's side door stopped locking/unlocking electronically
 

Okay, yesterday the driver's side door only stopped locking or unlocking via the wireless key and the toggle switch.

The door locks and unlocks fine with the key physically in the hole (first time in five years I've used the key).

Is there a solenoid or something to actuate the door to lock or unlock electronically? Where would this be found? I'll be researching my Bentley manual during lunch today.

Passenger side works as normally.

If you search for "door actuator" you will find a plethora of information on the issue. My local dealer wanted $400+ to replace it; and the local Mini indi shop wasn't any better. So... I bought one online for ~$120 and am waiting for a spare couple of hours to replace it myself - there is a detailed thread on DIY with pictures.

the replacement isn't too difficult. the Bentley manual has enough info to make it a simple job. i have a drivers side actuator for sale if anyone needs one.

I'm waiting for a good weekend day to do exactly the same job.
