SES light on and gauge reads 'NO CODES FOUND'

Sorry. I know. Yet another SES question. Why won't they end?

I am at 29k + miles and my SES light just came on.
The MINI is an '06
Used the Scan Guage II on it and it read 'No codes found.'

Does the light just pop on before it hits 30k?

Was just at the dealer for a fix on my thermostat a couple months ago.
Everything *should* be fine. No need for yet another service.
Would like to avoid taking it in yet again.

Thank you!

Im having the same problem right now. I have an 07 MCS with 61000miles. Im not sure what to do as my extended warranty hasnt kicked in yet. I have to wait 30 days and Im at day 20 right now. If you hear anything please let me know. I have posted this question on several other threads so hopefully I'll get something useful back fro both of us.

It might be a code that is exclusive to the BMW/MINI computer. I don't think all engine codes can be read thru a generic engine code reader like Scan Gauge.

SES = "Service Engine Soon"

The computer is telling you that it's time to take the car to the dealer for a routine service, it does not necessarily mean that something's wrong.
