Driver's Side Window Rattle

Hey guys, trying to fix an issue with my driver's side window. When I roll the window back up, there is a grinding noise that occurs, and a vertical streak appears about 1/3 from the front. Also, when the window is rolled completely down, and I shut the door, it sounds like the window rattles inside the door, almost like it's going to shatter. Please, can anybody shed any light on this. I have the interior door panels pulled off ready to fix it. Anybody please?

Does the grinding noise occur even when the door is open? Just make sure it is isn't a noise coming from the glass against the rubber or something like that. The vertical streak is a water mark and is normal. Water gets in there when it rains and leaves a streak. There'll be some noise when you close the door with the window all the way down but it shouldn't sound like the glass is going to shatter. I would take it to the dealer.

Yeah, the grinding noise only occurs when I'm rolling the window up. I understand the water streak thing, but it has not seen water for a while. And I know it would make noise rolled down when I shut the door, but it sounds completely different than the passenger side door.

Just take it into the dealer...it's their job to fix stuff like this. You probably have a bad window motor.
