My MCS hasn't logo on the engine

i have a MCS 2009 for 3 days ago, and i realise that my mcs hasn't logo on the engine. I search many mini's engine photos and i found 1 photos like my problem. This is general for 2009 models or it is mistake. Please help me :confused:

I think no logo is standard now

I also just took delivery about 2 wks ago, and I don't have a logo on my engine either. I know there's another thread out there that discusses this, and I think the consensus was that it was removed for 2009.

Would I like to have a logo there, sure, but it's nothing I'm overly concerned about. I guess I could buy one for a few bucks if I felt it was important to me.

Use the search function and I think you'll find your answer.

ahh dude u just lost 5hp for that...lame

That is kind of odd the hear that '09's no longer have the MINI logo on top of the engine. My '08 MCS has it.

I know this is very minor but maybe it is part of the cost cutting they are doing on the 09's.

Maybe it's step 1 of narrowing down the source of the cold start chatter...

Seems like it was no longer installed after sometime in March of 2008.

I have a week 12 (18 March '08) and no engine logo.

...and I have a late February '08 build, with the logo, so your March, 2008 estimate seems about right.
This is an unusual deletion. I can't imagine the small plastic logo costing more than a few bucks, and it certainly enhances the brand image and the look of the engine. There have got to be better places to save a couple of bucks per car!

leicaguy Nov 23, 2008 05:11 AM

april 08 build, no logo.

futuremini Nov 23, 2008 05:27 AM

Is this the Mini logo you are talking about? My car was built June 27th of 2008.

Strange phenomena.

Both my 2008 and my 2009 have an emblem just as on futuremini's photo.

Jenanhill Nov 23, 2008 06:46 AM

Late September 08 build. I have the logo.

Yeah, what's the big deal? The engine isn't even made by Mini anyway...

Just out of curiosity, can someone post a pic of their MINI engine cover with the logo missing? Maybe some people like the "clean" look?

Not built by MINI?
You may want to check this link:http://www.bmw-plant-hamshall.com/
Looks like they're building something in that plant!

futuremini Nov 23, 2008 05:49 PM

Guess they should have BMW logos on them huh?

Crashton Nov 23, 2008 06:08 PM

Maybe they should have Peugeot logos on them. If I ever get an R56 it will have one.

futuremini Nov 23, 2008 06:11 PM

We might as well have them put a badge on the car for every manufacturer who supplies any part for them.

Crashton Nov 23, 2008 06:15 PM

Man would there ever be a lot of logos on our cars. :eek2:

gokartride Nov 23, 2008 06:18 PM

Less weight....go without and be proud!!!!

russgriz Nov 23, 2008 06:26 PM

I went to the site that miniclubman provided, went to the "MINI Triangle" link, and there on the scrolling graphic header I see a close up photo of a hand affixing the MINI logo to the engine cover. How ironic.

There are some engine parts on the R56 that have "EU" stamped on them, rather than a particular country. That was a new one on me.

futuremini Nov 23, 2008 06:36 PM

That is interesting and a new one on me too!
