I've been tracking the mileage of when teh computer thinks my first oil change will occur. Right now I have 8770 miles on the car and the computer says 3225 miles to go, so that puts the first oil change at 12095. Anyone with a higher mileage?

I think I remember reading that Clover's new MCS is telling her that it doesn't need the service for 12k and change as well. Her mileage is probably about 99% highway, as she crisscrossed the country and made us all jealous...

if you follow what MINI says your second oil change is 15,500+ miles after your first one.

I've had my 03 MCS since Jan 23rd, and just passed 12,000 miles today.
My service indicator tells me 175 miles to go to the first oil change, so I'm calling today to make an appointment for later this week. When I first got the car it was pointing towards about 10k, but then I did about 5k highway miles on a long trip, and that extended my date with the dealer.

I forced Clover to change her oil around 4K miles!
You've got to be nuts to go 10K for a first service.
BTW...take a look at your air filter.....

How long did it take you for your first one?

OK, if I did my first oil change early....say about 5000 miles, how do I reset the Mini computer? Or do I just let is go and then do the dealer change when it "blinks"?

For future reference, inquiring minds want to know, is there a reset switch for the computer?

Just let it run down! The 10k (or 12k or whatever it ends up being) service isn't just an oil change, they take a look at other stuff, too. You don't want to put it off.
