Location: Large Riverside Shelter at Pere Marquette State Park in Grafton, IL
Located just north of Grafton, Illinois on the Great River Road
The St. Louis MINI Club will provide a catered, pulled-pork BBQ meal with coleslaw & potato salad! The Club will also provide soft drinks & water. Lunch will be served about 1:00pm. Come on out and enjoy a beautiful day, Frisbee, giveaways and good times in the park. It'll also be a great time to show off your Cooper and check out other members' rides. Fun for the whole motoring family!

There are some curvy roads around Pere Marquette Park area and I will have some maps available for those who want to go exploring. Let's have a maximum "MINI Picnic." Reply with a head count to Lois. Motor On, Dan & Becky
May 20th is approaching so be sure and send Lois your headcount or post it here for the MINI club picnic. Bring the family and dust off some games for a fun day. Motor On, Dan

I found this river stage prediction:
The Flood Warning continues for
the Mississippi River at Grafton
* at 8 PM Wednesday the stage was 18.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* The river is expected to crest near 19.0 feet Tuesday afternoon

Chances are if one is high then all three will be high. Since the Missouri is the bottom river of the three then it is very likely the Illinois River will be up along with the Mississippi.

Hope this helps and we are going to try and make it.....but I am on call this coming weekend.

The Mississippi is up because of the Missouri. The Illinois is upriver from both. I have not heard of any flooding along the Illinois. Besides the levels will be dropping in the next day or 2. So I don't think our MINIs will be going for a swim

not having ever been to Grafton, if we're coming from West county (near enough to st. charles) is it the only route to come 270 east to 367 north, then all the way up 100? That gotta be the most scenic, but for coming back maybe it's possible to cut down that illinois river road and get a different scenery or is that really roundabout?
See ya there!
edit:
Well we took the brussels ferry back and then another over to the St. Charles area, scenic drive either way, it was a beautiful day to be out. We need more twisties though..when's the next rallye?
Thanks all for organizing the fun!
