Grand Prix Speedways Go-Kart Night - October 19th, 2006
Everyone,
The new Grand Prix Speedways Go-Kart facility is now open in Earth City! Mike, Elmer, and I visited there last week and had a blast! The karts are fast and easy to drive, the track is very safe, and the entire facility is top notch. To check out all the details on GPS, including pricing, visit their website:

Our STLMINI night at the track will be Thursday October 19th. I picked a weeknight because the track is much less busy than on the weekend. One limitation of the track that should be noted is that you have to have a valid driver's license or be over 16 years old to participate.
Schedule:
Arrive by 7pm
7:00-7:30pm – registration and snacks
7:30pm – Training
8:00pm – Racing!
As a special offer to our group, GPS is offering us Buy One - Get One Free pricing for the night!
For those that haven't been to the track before, there's a short one-time registration process for them to put you into the system, and then a 10 minute training session on safety. After that, it's on to the locker rooms to put on your race suit, neck guard and helmet! Once on the track, there are multiple corner workers to keep the action moving smoothly. When your session is done, walk to the pro shop to get a printout of your laptimes and how you fared against others on the track!
If you will be attending (or need to update your people count), please post here and I will add you to the list.

Count me in.
That sounds like fun, any way we can get our MINI's on the track
LOL.
Do we get any special rate if we have a large number of people or is it 24.95 per race plus 12.95 for a license(??) no matter how many people we have.
No matter what I'll be there.

I figure I will be there as well. I will find out about my wife and also possibly my son. The Audi, BMW and Porsche clubs are getting together to discuss a German car drivers shooot out series at GPS. Aaron, do you want to contact Mike Rosen and see if he can bend the definition of German to include MINIs? He actually may just not care to be that exclusionary to begin with

I actually saw Mike Rosen at GPS last week and he mentioned it. I'll e-mail him and see if we can be in on the shoot out, it sounds like fun!

If this was on a Wednesday night I would totally be down for it.
I got to do something like this when I was in Dallas a few years back and had an absolute blast! You guys have a great time and take some shots for us who couldn't join.

Update:
I changed the arrival time to 7:00 pm. This will give everyone more time to eat beforehand and get to the track. We'll go through training at 7:30pm and start racing at 8pm. So, plan to be to the track by 7pm.
I'll send out an e-mail in a couple of weeks to get a firm RSVP list, so we know how many will be coming. It will be a blast!
