Thanks MTR ON. Everyone gave me the same name of Mark and I contacted him directly so I'll be getting my clear bra from him too. My MINI is on the Patriot and is scheduled to be offloaded on the 22nd at Charleston, SC so it should be here around the 27th or 28th.

Thaks for the info and glad to see you back on NAM.

Scott

Went to Ultrashield this evening on the way home and Mark installed a clear bra on our new MINI. What a great job and it looks incredible. Mark is one of the nicest guys you'll meet and is a real pro, very detailed and has a great product. He showed me by using a car key and pushing on the 3M product I couldn't push through the product.

Mark has my future business regardless of what vehicle we get in the future. If you are looking to get a clear bra in the St. Louis area Mark is the guy and Ultrashield is the place to do so. You can't go wrong, I didn't get this done on Gunner and now wonder why it is worth the investment to protect your MINI or any car for the matter.

I did it myself. I love having it. It protects the car very well.

Ok, so I'm confused... of course I haven't even gotten my mini yet but reading these threads makes me wonder about a lot of things (like what did I get myself into at times). Is the paint on a MINI especially vulnerable to chips? More so than other cars? I have two Nissans, one that is a '97 and has been driven in all sorts of terrain... country, highway, dirt roads, following trucks, freeways.. you name it and it doesn't have any chips in it. The other one has like one little chip that is more like a pencil lead size. Easily fixed. I've been hit by plenty of rocks and gravel. So is the MINI paint just not chip resistant?

The front end shape of the Mini seems to catch a lot of gravel and bugs. Is the paint worse than any other? Probably not considering most others are water based color coats stink (ever since the environmental regs literally ruined auto paint). Mini could/should put a thicker clear coat on, however. (Whenever I paint autos and motorcycles, I put the clear coat on pretty think.)

Pottermom, billie_morini is right it is just the fact that we have smaller and lower front ends that just seem to show the little dings and nicks more. The clear bra is just additional protection like anything else to help against those occuring. After having a MINI already I wished I would have made the same decision as I did this time and get one put on immediately after I took delivery. I would not consider it a mod, some may, but just a way of trying to protect my MINI just a little more along with cleaning and polishing on a regular basis. The material is pretty incredible and can be installed anywhere you want it on the car, not just MINI's either. I'll probably go back to Mark for the lights, and possibly the windshield pillars, front of roof and back bumper too.

So, a thread title like that, and absolutely no jokes at all? I'm very disappointed!

Mark did a great job!

I just had Ultrashield installed on my MINI this weekend. As always, Mark did an outstanding job. He also expertly installed a new set of factory stripes and (and I think this is sooo cool) he installed the clear film OVER my vinyl stripes to protect them. Thanks for the suggestion, Mark! My old black stripes were always an eyesore due to wear and waterspots. I am really excited they will now be maintenance free!

Looks sweet! Pepper White rules all of course.

I love my clear-bra...the front still looks gorgeous a year after I got him. The two small small scratches on my driver-side door though... *cry.

Brad, you have to have an open-house with cleaning and polishing this year! Don't make it in June though, i have lots of plans that month and I really want to check out the garage.

Mark does an excellent job We recently bought a new "daily driver" (not a MINI ) for my husband and it is going straight from the dealership to Mark for UltraShield installation. We learned our lesson the hard way with my MINI and won't make that same mistake twice!

I think it is on Kirkham in Webster right before it turns into Brentwood Blvd. I saw a building & a sign the other night on our way to my son's.

Sorry to pick up such an old thread, but . . .

HOORAY for Mark!!!
I just had stripes, clearbra and window tint done by Mark at Ultrashield of St Louis. I was thrilled with his professionalism and very precise work. My car looks great.

FYI: He is not quite yet moved into his new location on Kirkham Rd., but it looks like it's going to be soon.

I saw Mark and his Clear Auto Bra truck at the BMWCCA Track Day today and it reminded me that I needed to post a couple things here.

1. Mark did the Clear Bra on my 07 MCS with JCW Aero Kit (Yes he has all the patterns for the new model and aero kits) and it looks awesome! Everything's lined up nicely and I'm not a bit concerned about rocks and stuff.

2. While I was talking to Mark, a guy who recently bought a 07 BMW M Coupe walked up and said, "I should have called you a while back, now I have a big chip in my hood!" I mention this only reinforce the fact that if you are at all thinking about this and/or are the kind of person (like me!) who can't stand a chip in his paint, you have to get this done. Period. End of story.

Well, not really the end of the story.

Mark has supported the St. Louis MINI Club from the very beginning and his products are the best quality material made. Get the bra, ok? Ok.

(no, I wasn't paid to make this post. sheeeesh)

Can anyone in the Saint Louis area tell me how their clear bra is holding up? With all the 40 and 44 construction plan and going on I am thinking a clear bra might be my first addition to my MCS.

Thanks for the info. I drive a SUV now and until I ordered a Mini I did not pay much attention to the gravel and other cr*P on the roads that might ding the bonnet.

I got my Clearbra installed a few days ago by Mark at Clear Auto Bra on Kirkham Rd. Very professional and friendly. He pointed out a few knicks that I already acquired in just the first 500 miles of driving. I wish I had driven straight there from the dealer! Additionally, he applied my bonnet stripes for free AND applied the Clearbra film over the entire stripe. Highly recommended. We MINI owners pay a lot of attention to our babies but sometimes don't take the easy steps to protect them.

Installed one right away when I got my 2006 S home. The performance of the clear bra has been terrific.

Clear Bra for the new toy...

As I eluded to in other threads, I have "exchanged" the MINI for it's older cousin, a 2004 BMW M3. Within a week of delivery I made arrangements to have Mark at Clear Auto Bra work his magic. I was really impressed with how Mark fabricated custom pieces, extended coverage of the hood, bumpers, mirrors, headlights, etc. covering all the vunerable areas, including some custom pieces for behind the wheel wells, etc. Looks sweet! Actually, it doesn't look like anything at all...which is sweeter!

I really saw the benefits of the protection this weekend while driving in circles at the Porsche Club Drivers Eduction event at Gateway - stuff comes flying at you fast! Plus I now have courage to battle the barrage of debris littered around the I-64 construction. Phew!

The MINI went to Dallas and the new owner called me to compliment on how "perfect" the car was and how new it looked. He had never seen a clear bra before and thought it was great that his new car was still in the wrapper!

M3 arrives, MINI goes to a new home.
