This is a great oportunity to build a relationship with a new dealer. I am hoping they will be able to provide us with good service and treat us how we deserve to be treated.

Dealer info:

Thanks for the info, Brian! I'll try to swing by and check them out! A little new competition in the MINI world can't hurt!

Tere will be a grand opening in the future and I am working with the GM to set something up. I will post details as soon as I have some.

I think right now they just want to get moved in and open. Not to mention sell some Mini's !!

If this was just a touch sooner I would have bought my car from them.

Its pretty awesome to have a dealer in the south bay with 50+ mini's IN STOCK at msrp.

And for anyone wondering I have no real connection with them I just want to see a dealer close to me do well and offer great service.

I know, isn't that awful?? I mean, I can go to Nick Alexander MINI which is 15 miles from me, or this new dealer which is about 5 miles, or Long Beach MINI which is maybe 10 to 15 miles as well.

But of course, the downside is this. We are in a HUGE city, and while we have more choices, most of them have very poor reputations for service. I go to Nick Alexander despite their 3 week to 1 month average wait times. In fact, one appointment I made over the summer had me waiting 3 months for an appointment.

There are several dealers here who have kept MINI's for weeks, when the cars were just brought in for the routine 10,000 mile service. So I'm not sure how spoiled that makes us.

Also, from a new car stand point, I'm not sure what city you are in, but here in Los Angeles, we still have dealer markups and wait times to get a MINI.

So what ever happened to the one that was to open in Hermosa Beach?

Being a ture So Cal person I follow all this stuff. I'm still waiting for a dealer to open remotly close to me here in FL. I'm hoping to move back soon but till then I'm asking myself why should you people have 15/20 dealers in the state and mine is as close as 600 miles round trip?

I think that's the same one. Hermosa Beach is pretty close to Torrance.

to my knowledge it's not open yet. Anyone have an expected opening day?

FWIW, the new South Bay MINI dealer and the new dealership in New Mexico are the only two dealerships being added West of the Mississippi for the next three years. So if you don't have a dealer near you now, it doesn't sound like you're getting one anytime soon.

You can't even pull that one on a person who's surfed every beach in CA.

Torrance is next to but not Hermosa Beach. City lines are very strict in CA and they're not the samething what so ever.

south bay mini is opening Friday. The new dealership is going to be south bay mini/bmw which is currently in Hermosa beach and will be moving their new car sales to the new building in torrance.

It will be a little while before bmw moves over since they are just finishing the mini part and there is still a bunch of work to do on the bmw side.

Darn, I thought you being in Florida would just let it slide.

But I guess I wasn't that far off from the answer--according to detlman.

Hey all

I got a Astro Black Mini Cooper CVT (I know.. I should have got a stick..but I spend 2 hrs a day on the 405 in traffic... )

Bought it off the lot w/ the Preimum & Sport packages, Panther Black Leather seats.

They're still a little bit disorganized... the BMW part of the building isn't done yet, they don't have working bathrooms (unless you count the porta potties out in the lot), and their car lot needs to be leveled (my friend with me tripped several times on some uneaven asphalt)

They also don't have the service department in place yet. Its supposed to be complete in Dec, and supposdly will have 77 (I think) bays on two levels. The showroom still had an unfilinshed feel to it.

But, everyone there was extremely nice, and my Motoring advisor, Jamie, although she didn't know the answers to some of my questions, was really nice. I cut her some slack, since it was the first day they were open. The Sales Manager, Jennifer was also REALLY nice. I was waiting for this dealer to open to see their selection (since everyone else is marking the Mini's up so high) and she called personally to let us know when they were opening. She also gave me a Mini Hat and keychain.

All in all though, it looks like they will be really successful and I look forward to bringing my car into service there, once they're all set.

- J

Lots of MINIs on the lot

I pass by there on the way to work. There must be 30 or more MINIs on the lot!

I have been hearing their commercial on the radio - Indi 103.1 - and I am happy that they chose to place spots on my favorite station!

Well Phoenix of course.

We have club members who make overnight drives from all parts of AZ, NM, UT and parts of Co to get service at the one dealership that we have.

I will give the best party a dealer throws to LB so far though.
