well i got my first one ... coming back from L.A. just south of Oceanside the officer said he saw me swerving and that i was doing 90.... 5 seconds before i swerved a mustang gt passes me i know i was doing 75 .. 80 when he passed me so i moved around the car infront of me (the swerving part) and a minute later the cop pulls me over when he turned his lights on i was already back to the speed everybody was going now i have to wait and see if they will let me go to traffic school
this being my second speeding ticket although the first one was in my dads truck i was under the impression that the speedometer had been fixed for the oversized tires but was wrong by about 16 mph... only problem is that it was near laughlin still in C.A. so I would have to go to court in needles and i do not have the money for that .... Anybody know what i could do .... i plan to ask the judge in vista for a chance to go to traffic school. who else hear has tickets

I know that area of Oceanside very well. San Clemente to San Juan Capistrano is even worse. Anyway, you may have the option for traffic school and can always make a sympathetic plea to DMV. It is worth while to ask about the on-line school.
I got my first and and only speeding ticket a few years ago on the 241 toll road. I had just tossed my quarter in the basket and was merging when the CHP pulled me over. Said I was doing 80. I asked if he had me on video because I wanted a copy to show my friends that my Mustang could, in fact, hit 60 in .02 seconds. All I got was a smile and two long Friday nights at traffic school.
Best of luck with the tickets, and remember that DMV has heard it all. Penitant smiles go a long ways with DMV and the judge.

In most cases courts will let you take the traffic school on line. I used http://www.traffic101.com (i have no interest in this site other than it was easy and did not cost too much.

A friend got one where the school said it was not acceptable but we wrote a letter to the court saying we were out of the area and would like traffic school on line and they OKed it.

Also, I found (not to my liking) that secondary traffic school (as in oops second ticket) was a full Sat AND Sun in a classroom where I probably know more than the instructor (having been there probably as many times as he/she has).

No speeding tickets yet but 2 fix-it tickets and a few warnings
