03/08/08: Pre-Wustefest Grand Prix/Big GTG (SpeedZone, City of Industry)
Taken from http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3679174

Date: Saturday, 03/08/08
Time: Roll-In @ 9:30am, drivers meeting will be at 10:15 (you MUST be
present for the meeting in order to qualify for the Grand-Prix competition!
Location: SpeedZone - 17871 Castleton Street, City of Industry, CA 9174

Here's the deal... We have decide to put this event on not only as a big GTG and good time, but also a chance to start
getting excited about Wustefest. This will be the first of 3 monthly pre-Wustefest events... We not only have rented
a large portion of the parking lot, but will even have a few cars on display in the "paddock" area of SpeedZone.
There will be cars, music, people, and some friendly competition.
The cost of the event is $20/person... yes, I understand that you can show up to the event and park in the non-GTG
parking area and get away with not paying, but we've laid out a hefty amount of $ in order to lock down the lot, so
I'd really appreciate it if you guys just came prepared to pay the "entree fee"... The $20 includes a meal ticket (choice
of Cheese/Hamburger, Hot Dog, or Chicken Tenders, Fries, and a drink) along with a $15 Play-Card... so you actually get
more than your money's worth.

Grand Prix Details: With your $15 Play Card, you will be spending $6 of it on 3 laps of Grand Prix racing! Use your first
lap as a warm-up, and the other 2 will be your timed laps, which will be compared to the rest of "the pack". Fastest
3 times will receive a trophy along with something special that we at Abbott Automotive are currently working on.
In order to race, you must have a valid drivers license, and be at least 5'. We will be the first people allowed on
the track, so while you wait in line for your turn, you will have a chance to watch who is fastest on take notes...
Other than that, you are free to use your Play Card however you'd please... Trophies/prizes will be handed
out after the entire group has run!
This event is a family-oriented event so bring out your family, bring out your friends, and enjoy a great time with
a big group of fellow Euro-enthusiasts.

I talked to the Brandon over at VWvotex and he told me that all Euro cars are welcomed to come, and he'd love to have a group of MINIs there so lets have a nice MINI turnout!
