Hey everyone,
Wanted to put this out there for a friend of mine and the school that she teaches at. Their school just had about half of their funding cut from the budget, and every so often they do some fundraisers to help with some of the school expenses for the kids. This one will be next wednesday, December 19th, from 5p.m. until 9p.m. at Islands in Miramesa. How it works, is you go to eat at the restaurant, and you are handed a flyer from the school. When the bill comes, you hand the flyer in with the bill, and the restaurant takes 15% of the payment and gives it to the school. They usually pull in a decent amount, but I want to try to help out how I can. I was really hoping that this would be a good opportunity to have how ever many we can get together, to go out, eat, have a drink, and help out the school as well. If you can bring any friends or family along, that would be greatly appreciated also. If you are free on this night at any time in there, please shoot me a p.m. or respond to this thread with what time you can make it, and I'll try to arrange a meeting time and place for everyone. I'd be willing to stick around down there if everyone can't make it at the same time as well, so please let me know, and I'll shoot you a response with my number and some more info as I get it. Are you organizing this as a MINI Meet & Eat event? It is very generous of Islands to donate a portion of the tab to the school. Best wishes for a successful fundraiser.

 

No, I am not necessarily organizing this as a meet and eat. I want to try to get as many people down there for this as I can, and I just figured this would be a good way to start.
