Where are all the Texas MINI's?

Last week I was visiting relatives in San Antonio and exploring Austin where I am moving in July, and I only saw 4 MINI's all week:eek: !

Here in Seattle I see about 4 a day. Where are you all hiding? Did you all get squashed by the SUV's and big trucks?

I did see a semi truck with 6 spinners though. That was pretty awesome.

They've all been killed. Impaled on the front of late 80's Cadillacs, you know, the ones with the longhorns on the grill. This guy took out half dozen just last week...

Didnt you know a gun rack wont fit in the rear window, thats why they trade them in.I imported mine up to canada from Texas on ebay.

IIRC Austin doesn't have a dealer, that would be one reason. I see lots every weekend here in Dallas. But the Dallas (DT & Uptown) drivers ~I~ see don't even bother to ackknowledge one another. You'll love Austin, I grew up there and left when I was 28, great age for that town. Roads are better, 2222, Bee Caves, any FM/RR around Lake Travis, Spice Wood Springs Rd (personal favorite)....

They are around :) www.MetroplexMINI.org

we had 54 of us at the last monthly meeting!

Well, I'm here. Sometimes I see 6 MINI's a day, sometimes none. I like the relative rarity here.

Not us, Black Conv with white bonnets (although there is a second one owned by a lady nearly identical to mine

and the wife drives a Red Cooper with Black Bonnets.

Like someone else mentioned, there isn't a dealer here, which cuts down on the number of Minis. Which means those of us who have them REALLY want them

join us at www.austinmini.org as we are just now building our numbers up. And join us this Saturday for a social.

Stuck in cold and dreary New Jersey.

The house in Denton is under construction. Should be ready at the end of March. I retire July 15th. Can't wait to get on the track in Hallet, TWS, and Motorsports Ranch.

See ya'll then.

No no, we are hiding BETWEEN the Suburbans and the 18 wheelers. We have quite a few on the Fort Worth side now and at least 5 where I work.

We're here. Some of us are stuck in Dodge Neon rentals until we can replace ours.

Come to Dallas next time. We'll show you some MINIs.

azuul Jan 26, 2006 10:07 AM

Nope, San Antonio MINIs are alive. Check out this forum: http://www.lonestarminiclub.com. We have a MINI mod day scheduled for Feb 11 in conjuction with the Strictly European Car Club. Also, there is a yahoo group for the South TX MINI Club at http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/minimotoring/

The Austin group used to be sort of part of the South TX MINI Club. However the STMC has had less activity over the past year. So, I think a new group is forming in Austin.

Hope to see you motoring around here in South TX.
