The MetroplexMINI club is working out details now for the annual Arkansas run. If you know Arkansas you know they have the best roads in the south!

This will be on the 7-9th weekend in November and I would like to get a head count as soon as possible so we can book a set of rooms. The lodge I like has a nice party room for a Friday or Saturday night get together.

This sounds great!!! I wont join you in the entire trip since I only live about 1 hour from Eureka Springs. I will have to see what the route is and see where I can join in but will be there!!!! My MINI will only be about 1 month old at this time and probably just hitting the end of the break in period.....Ooooo yea!!!!!

I live in Siloam Springs, right along the border with OK. I'll probably meet up with you somewhere along the road on Friday, we'll see where once you choose your route. I suppose I can just drive along the route in the opposite direction until I see a long trail of MINIs.....kind of hard to miss that :smile: :smile: I CAN"T WAIT!!!!!!!

 

Ok, I have a motel with rooms to fit a large crowd so PLEASE let me know if you are thinking of joining our group!
If Eureka Springs is just a days drive from you it is worth coming along!
I want to have a clubhouse party of Friday night. There is a nice liquor store next door.

The Dallas - Fort Worth group will be driving up from Hope on Friday. We will have time to relax a bit then we can order food to the club house. Saturday we can spend the day enjoying some of the best twisties and rollercoaster roads in the country. Others may want to relax in the town. In the evening I'm open to anywhere for dinner then perhaps a show.

I am really looking forward to making this a yearly event!

Thanks for the info update!!!!! My MINI looks like it will be ready for delivery by the first week in October and I am really excited about this run through Arkansas and up to Eureka. I will make reservations at the Travelers Inn for Friday and Saturday.

Friday I am going to be heading out at about 7 AM (when my wife leaves for work) and will meet up with you either at your lunch stop or maybe even a little further south. As we wind our way north if we do nto go through Fayetteville I will have to peel off to go pick up my wife unless she decides to drive up seperately, we'll have to see.

I'll worry about the details at a later date. I'm glad to see this is coming together, tNW Arkansas is a great place for this and Eureka Springs will be fantastic!!!! For your info, I don't think my wife and I will be interested in shows, but again...I'll have to see what my wife says!!! :smile:

I may have managed to recruite another MINI for the drive up to Eureka. My neighbors down the road have an '03 MCS and I finally caught up with them today to let them know about the plans. They sounded very interested and I'll give them more details later and let you know if they will join us and when.

The hotel reservations are already made, but thanks for the reminder! I would like to get some more info about the FM-radio's. I'm a total novice about the 2-way radio stuff, so I can use some info if I am going to buy the right thing.

I pick my MINI up in less then 48 hours!!!!!

Hey man!
My computer has been down so right now I bet you are motoring!

The FM 2-ways you can buy anywhere but I suggest the GMRS radios if you find them. If not get the Family Radios. Radio Shack , WalMart, Bass Pro, Sears, they all have them. They are not cheap but you will be glad you have it on this trip when a slow car gets inbetween us. the person in front will give you a all clear.

Midland, Unidin, Motorola are a few brands to look for.
