San Antonio Drivers Club
Hey there all San Antonio, Texas MINI drivers. I'm seeing more and more on the road. How about a honk and a wave when we see each other? I would love to find a local MINI car club that meets on a fairly regular basis for dinner and drinks and talk about our fun cars. Now that the weather will be changing, it would be fun to take some Saturday drives around the hill country. Since San Antonio has it's own MINI dealership, we should be able to form a large group of MINIacs. So let me here from you, ok?

Honk, honk, hello.
This is one of the local San Antonio area clubs http://www.lonestarminiclub.com/ . We don’t have regular meetings anymore, but that doesn’t make us any less a club, as with anything, it is what you make of it. There is a local European Car Club http://www.strictlyea.com/forum/ which is very socially oriented and I enjoy their GTGs. There are some social sub-clicks that you will become aware of when you start mingling; not my cup-o-tea, may be your’s?
This weekend there are a group of Houston motorists that will be enjoying the Fredericksburg area http://www.metroplexmini.org/forum/s...ad.php?t=20536 ; I’m sure they would be glad to have you join them for some group rides and social time over bratwursts und beer.

For the Fredericksburg contingent, it’s too bad I’m getting this post in late, but if you were to do the bat cave run going south this afternoon and continue on to 473 and go east to 474 and take that fun road (right/south) into Boerne, keeping to the left at the High School until Hwy 46, then left to the Kendall County Fair Grounds, there is a rodeo and dance tonight. Zona Jones is an outstanding traditional country band opening, and for the younger crowd, Cross Canadian Ragweed is closing, both stay on the dance floor kind of bands.
Bandera is really hopping tonight (rodeo, Asleep at the Wheel and the best bar crawl in the state) too if you wanted to take Hwy 16 south which is another fun road. 337 to Leakey is a must drive for the curve starved flat country folks, it’s like no other road in Texas.

Wildhare,
My name is Ash and I'm the Vice-President of the "original" Mini Club for San Antonio and Austin called the South Texas Mini Club (STMC).
Both my wife and I live on the North side of San Antonio. We have four minis, as we're fanatic miniacs. Three are classic minis and the other is 2003 MC. If you ever see a Mini beeping at you and it has a black 13 on the boot, it's one of ours.
BTW - We'll be doing a run on the 29th to the all British car show in Round Rock, Austin. We'd love to have you join us.
Cheers,
Lisa & Ash

Twisted Sisters Run - 16 Mar 08
Heads up Miniacs,
The South Texas Mini Club will be hosting another Hill Country event.
The Three Sisters (AKA Twisted Sisters) are 3 famous Ranch Roads that snake through the Northeast Hill Country. RR377, RR336 & RR335 have some of the best twisties and elevation changes anywhere.
Folks who did the Foliage Run last fall will remember RR337 between Medina and Leaky. This route will include the rest of 337 West of Leaky into Camp Wood, and a very scenic wiggle up the banks of the Nueces River on RR335. Then a short zap West on HWY41 to the third sister, RR336, that zigzags South along the ridges and vallies of the hills in Real County all the way down to 1050. Then West on 1050 into Utopia for PIE!
This run will be around 200 miles total. There will be a chance for lunch in either Leaky of Camp Wood, depending on the timing.
DATE/TIME: March 16th
MEET UP LOCATION: Jim's restaraunt at 1604 and Bandera Road (hwy16)
BREAKFAST: 8:00am
ROLL TIME: 9:00am
We need dry roads for this run, so an alternate rain date will be March 23
Cheers
