What- noone else is waiting?

I just put the second half of my deposit down at Mini North Scottsdale and still have no idea how long it's going to be until the little one arrives Is anyone else currently waiting and how long has everyone had to wait? It is so very hard.

Everyone's looking, but noone answering. I guess we're the only ones without a mini.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH I wish we were getting ours that soon. We don't even have a production number yet so I can't go to the owner's lounge.

with a little bit of luck

West coasters have it rough...that Panama Canal route must be a bear.

I built my MCS/prempkg/armrest at Morristown (NJ) Mini on March 12. Didn't sign because there were three pre-owned 05's I still needed to check out. But the dealer liked my build and said he was ordering it for his inventory. I could buy it any time as long as he hadn't sold it to someone else.
Lost one that I would have bought but I was too late. Others were wrong color or too many unwanted accessoriies. On March 21, the one I built was still available, so I closed on it. Coincidently, production began on March 21.

Completed Apr 04.
On the dock Apr 05
Loaded on Vessel Apr 05
Discharged NY Harbor Apr 13
Trucked to dealer Apr 14
Picking up from dealer Apr 15

Now Morristown Mini is less than 20 miles from the port, and no one snatched my build while I was dawdling, so I was quite lucky. At my age, 63, waiting comes a bit easier. But if I lived out west, I'd probably order from the east, fly out, and drive it back home. Especially if I had to deal with those California markup bandits. Good luck and best wishes to everyone who wants their MINI their way and are willing to wait for it.

Did you deal with Andrea or Dave?
What was your impression from the whole experience?
I almost bought an MCS two days ago there with andrea, walked when there was no wiggle room...
May have to reconsider after reading of the MSRP only everyone seems to be getting...

Kutch, I dealt with Chuck Bliss on the BMW side; great guy; answered all my question, etc. He would deal on an "in stock" mINI, but not on the ordered one, so I paid MSRP. ( it was ordered on 3/25, buit on 4/13, and on the boat on 4/15 so I expect is soon)

Bottom line...if you can't order a car and have it in less than 8 weeks, FIND ANOTHER DEALER!!! There's a bunch of dealers out there who will deliver. And making a trip to pick up your MINI is fun. Don't settle for 3, 4 or more months for a car.

I didnt want to sit on the waiting list at Scottsdale Mini, so on advice from some others, ordered from Moritz Mini in Arlington, TX.

Ordered on 4/20/05 - Received my production number by the end of the same day.
Scheduled for production on 4/29/05 with a Completion date of 5/8
Transported to Port of exit on 5/9
Booked on Takasago on 5/10 with departure of 5/13, delivery to Charleston, SC on 5/26
Figure a couple weeks to Arlington, so flying out weekend of June 3rd or 10th to pick it up and drive back to Phoenix!
