I would just like to thank the great state of Arizona for providing me with such a pleasurable drive last night. I was 1100 miles into my roadtrip home in my brand new Mini Cooper S when I decided at about 9pm Saturday night that I was not ready to stop for the night. I just happend to find 89s to Sedona and thought that was good. The road is about 50 miles of turns, most posted with a speed limit of 20 some 15 mph and It was the best.
this car sticks like glue it is very fun and worth all the wait and everything.

I wish it had more power but it is fast. I averaged about 65mph for 1616 miles, I was trying to break it in but not ever going slower than 60 or over 110.

That's until I hit Beautiful Arizona, by itself this is beautiful country but coming fresh out of 1100 miles ot Texas (0 tickets) and New Mexico (no offense NM) and that road opens up to over 100 miles of the straight shot toward LA. I hit 125-127 down there. That was right about 1200 miles and i was starting to get nervous about the power and I was ready to let rip. I drove from 8pm to 2am the first night and got 330 miles to Amarillo. I left Amarillo about 9am and got to Prescott AZ. at 11 pm. I was very tired of diving the car in 4th, 5th and 6th and then I hit AZ.

Didn't see a MINI for 1340 miles, none until I hit Ca. then 3 or 4. I got to race around with a very nice young lady in a TT with the top down, she was cruisin. I just followed her, never passed her and we were just like the Italian Job or something, like 007. That was fun I was ready to hit the rev-limiter and theres nothing like LA for that. Nobody passed me for 1500 miles that I didn't pass back until some rav 4 loaded with a family of 4 all the way through San Bernadino County. Thanks to a lot of prayers I am alive. Hope to see some more of everything soon.

Matt, glad you enjoyed it! Check out other threads in this forum for pics of our fun runs. We go out in our beautiful state every month it seems....5-15 minis depending all for a crazy run through the mad runs....

Be safe, have fun, and motor on!

Aren't ya glad you drove it back home from TX instead of having it shipped? What route did you take when you left Prescott?

I am so glad I drove it home or I would still be here waiting for it, wondering if I was going to like the color combo etc.

When I left Prescott I stayed on 89s to the 71 (?) to the 60 and then got on the 10 to good old LA. That was early sunday morning and I basically had the roads to myself, except for all the bikers going the other way.

You passed through a number of towns that if you blinked you missed them.
