I'm still out of town. Come home tomorrow.
Bascially, I left AZ on Sat am. I drove my car and purposely didn't fill it up before I left. I have about 30 miles left on the range reading and it's just sitting with the car cover on watching the world go by. I go back tomorrow and I've been hearing that people have to fill up at 4am and are still playing anywhere from over $2 to $4.97! Do we not have price-gouging laws in AZ? There are some here in KS when we had a problem with this a few years ago and he stations that went crazy had to pay fines to the city they were in. Curious if there is a gas station in North Scottsdale any of you might have visited that's been good on getting the gas and prices are decent so I can go straight there without wasting the last of my gas trying to find one. Are you guys managing out there ok? Thanks! haf  |
I don't think it's gotten any better from my perspective...

it sucks, quite frankly. But I filled up monday morning (i went to 9 stations that had no gas, one with regular only, then finally foudn one with a line that was only about 25 minutes), and thanks to driving almost all freeway in my daily commute, I'm still at 3/4 of a tank. hopefully it will last me through the weekend, when they're saying we might have things back to normal.

Supply line that runs from Tucson to PHX has leaks so they shut it down.
People follow gas trucks around as they go fom one station to another so they can be first in line... Not as bad as a complete power outage. I'll take a gas shortage anyday over a power outage. |
Hafid, from the looks of things things last night and this morning, the availability of gas is much better. Last weekend it was 35% of stations open. Today, it is reported that 65% are open and have plenty of gas.
I drove past 4 stations on my way to work today. The one by my house (67th & Beardsley) had 1 car at each pump. No waiting! The 7-11 by work had gas, but only Premium (which I got) for 2.39 gallon. The Sams Club station was still closed. The Texaco had a car or so wait. The news was all over town this morning reporting that many stations had gas and not more than a 5-10 minute wait. It looks like ou picked the perfect weekend to leave town! O, the pipeline might be pumping by Sunday. Things are looking better. |
Hey all, thanks for the updates! Hopefully it won't be too bad.
I heard it on NPR today...i hear the EPA lifted restrictions to get more gas in there fast! thanks again, haf  |
