Not yet. Bonnie (Lauderdale MINI) was waiting on the head girl over at Muvico to get back from her vacation so they could work out the details. Bonnie has promised to make this a fun event. She should have some more information some time this weekend.
(Please note that I am just relaying information, not truly working on the event. Please thank those people truly responsible as they are the ones putting in the sweat. I just have the joy of being the messenger!)

 

Hey, guys no ploy. If you guys want to to have a good time. We have two special viewings on May 28 and 29, everyone is going to meet at South MINI b/c they are giving out tickets for it. Please pm me if you are interested. free no commitment.

 

Here is the scoop, they have Sunset Place doing two movie previews, one on the 28th for the Miami Herald and one on the 29th that is for MINI USA. They have a total of 500 tickets to give out 250 for each day, each ticket will admit two. They should have the entire 3rd floor parking reserved for MINIs, and you dont have to worry about paying for parking that is taken care of. From what I know, we are meeting at South MINI like at 6:00pm and head out in a caravan to Sunset Place. They are trying to arrange some food for everyone, we shall see as the time arrives. I would like to see a strong showing of MINIs there. I think it looks like alot of fun. Free movie, Free parking, Free Food if possible, alot of MINIs = alot of fun. Take care everyone, and please let me know if you can make it so I can call my friend to put you on the list, send me a pm or post.

 

So Lauderdale and South MINI are doing two seperate screenings? I'm confused...lol. I thought Lauderdale was doing a screening at Muvico. Am I correct?

 

I believe that's right. I'll go by Lauderdale and verify with Bonnie. Since this is being organized by the corporate offices I imagine each dealership is being given their own set of tickets and movie location. Back in an hour two to verify what Bonnie has to say.

 

Status for Fort Lauderdale showing!
We currently have the showing reserved for 7:30 Thursday the 29th at Muvico.
Bonnie has 300 tickets for us. We also have a designated parking area already assigned. Lauderdale Mini will be closing early Thursday so all the employees can come over and help. We would like to set up a "boot" party in the parking lot before hand. Ideas tossed around so far include Pizza for food (easy and less messy). A Mini Radio Controlled autocross using the remote cotrolled cars. Winners get to keep their cars! A Mini parking contest. A Mini donut contest. (Not the baking kind!)
If you guys have any other ideas, please either answer here or contact Bonnie direct.

 

Mark, thanks for the info. Do you know for sure that it will be okay if "non-Lauderdale MINI" owners come down and join in on the fun? Joyce (from Downtown,) told me she'd let me know of their plans, and I haven't heard anything...

 

I don't see it as a problem as long as Bonnie has a list of how many will be coming. She can reached at 954-468-2351 (ask for Bonnie in the Mini dealership)
Be sure and arrive early for the "Boot" party fun. Show starts promptly at 7:30pm (or at least the previews do)

Thank you Mark for getting the word out, we will be glad to have any and all come out. If any of the BMC member or Fl MINI club members can volunteer their time and energy to assist in set up and think up MINI ideas for fun, it would be greatly appreciated. We plan to make an exciting event and to do it right we need all the help we can get. MINI is giving us some ideas and give-aways, but the physical part is all ours.
Can't wait to see an entire MUVICO parking lot filled with happy MINI's all shapes and sizes, Classic and New MINI's are going to be there.

All dealerships are doing one on the 29th, the reason is that MINIUSA is doing a screening that day, so all dealers will have a screening that day. If dealers get into an agreement with ex: the Miami Herald, they will have two screenings.

 

Ive got a group called "360 MINIs", we located in South Miami, so for the location I will go from South MINI. It is going to fun no matter where you are going from. We have about 86 people signed up to go so feel free to let me know if you want to join us. Like I said b/4 this will be alot of fun. There will food, games,new MINIs, classic MINIs, The group will meet at South MINI, andleave in caravan form on a fun drive to Sunset Place to watch the premier of "The Italian Job". We are looking to get a very strong showing of MINIs, and we are always looking for more to join us.

 

I don't know if anyone saw the today show this morning. They where doing a special on "The Italian Job", they where doing some stunt driving with two Cooper S.

 

Since Downtown Mini is having a showing in Orlando, the same day. I will go to that one instead of driving to south FLA> Thanks for the opportunity.

It seems we will miss this event cause we didn't buy our MINI at Lauderdale.Every one talks crap about South Motors but they have an open invitation to every MINI owner no matter from where it was purchased.We happen to live about 5 minutes from Muvico and thought it would be great ,no traffic and quicker to pick up our kids afterwards.But it seems Lauderdale only invited customers even though we called about two weeks ago and spoke to Bonnie and never received a confirmation.Today when I called some guy said it was only for customers.That's a real nice way of boosting up the MINI spirit. :evil:

Hey what a great first post !!!! The MINI people from Lauderdale are some of the best people I have ever met. And if you did not get a call back I'm sure it was not on purpose. With all the happy satisfied customers from Lauderdale that will be attending the movie how could they just let in anyone?? So I don't think your statement has any substance to it. That's how South can do it because of all the "Crap" as you say everyone speaks about them. I know people that bought MINI's from all the dealers in Florida and nobody talks crap about any of them.
