Well, I've got most major geek areas covered. I have an engineering degree and a library degree. I work as a sysadmin for a public library doing database admin and webdesign. I have my own domain name and a library of about 700 books. So I am a computer geek and book geek. I even met my girlfriend online.

yeah, it sounds worse than it is really. i can switch "supergeek" mode off usually but sometimes i get stuck in it for long periods of time and my family tries to avoid making eye contact with me lest i give them a dissertation on something really fun like database normalization. :smile:

do any of my fellow MINI geeks out there in sunshine land do PHP/MySQL? i have some ideas for things to build for the ssm site and might need help depending on how much spare time i can scrounge up for myself. :smile:

I've done a little bit of PHP/MySQL. I have MySQL on a Windows 2000 workstation running Apache 2 at work. I'va also set up a phpBB site like the Sunshine MINIs forum.

Actually the issue with INVALID SESSIONs is a known problem with phpBB.

 

it actually manifests itself almost exclusively with AOL customers because of some aspects of their network/proxies and it affects a few other software packages besides phpBB. the phpBB team is supposedly looking into a workaround other than turning off some security features that shouldn't be turned off.

 

I tried to register there and it sent me an e-mail requiring a fax or mailing, but had no address and no fax #.

 

Got it, my glitchy laptop mouse selected the 13+ age garbage. Will that forums admin please drop me a PM here or there and hopefully get this name for me on both forums.

 

How about the MINI wings with a watermarked state flag in the middle of the wings and in front of the watermark would be somethin like Sunshine minis etc with some palm trees, sand and what not. Just a quick idea.

 

Ha after I posted I thought of another one.

The wings with 2 palms facing each other creating an arch doorway thingy and between those would be a mini on the sand, probably yellow in color, and above the palms is Sunshine and below the mini and the sand would be the minis.org.

Or get a pic of a mini down by the peir (?) at daytona beach, or alot of them, and do whatever. I'm going to sleep. Goodnight and thanks for listening to my ramblings.

almost got sunshineminis.org moved to its new home. it's gonna supa fantastic. i'm working on a calendar system so it's easier to see when events are happening and some cool stats so you can see who posted the most every day :smile: complete with graphs and everything!

not sure about the web ring though. if anybody on the ring links to a commercial site.. yadda yadda yadda...

we'll see.

 

Front page (index) to the website looks like a 10 year old did it with Frontpage.

The Forum is good stuff..
