Saturday, the mini-MINI event......all are welcome

First stop - Coffee and Pastry Hook Up in beautiful Elgin SC. Located on Highway 1 aka Two Notch Road, at the corner of White Pond . If you need help getting there, try mapquest, or call them at 803-408-3722.

This is the "meeting point" for the local group, as well as anyone else who would care to join us there. They open at 8, and we will depart around 9 for the next stop, which is...........

Fryar's Topiaries in Bishopville. Gather there in the 10 to 10:30 range. Hang out, check Pearl's work (hopefully Pearl will be joing us, he told me he would be there if he could). It is located a little less than a mile east of I-20 on the US 15 exit which is number 116. Going east from 20, look for small versions of Pearl Fryar's topiaries, at the intersection of Broad Acres Road. Actual address is 145 Broad Acres Road, Bishopville 29010. Leave there around 11:30 or so, heading for the lunch stop, which is.......

McLeod Farms in the bustling community of McBee South Carolina. From Fryar's, suggested route to McBee is 341 to 1 (where it meets Bethune) to McBee (where it meets151). Taking this route, you would turn right on 151, then McLeods is a ways out on the left. If you are coming a different route, check with them 843-335-8335 or http://www.mcleodfarms.com

After lunch, off to the final leg of our journey du jour, which is...........

The Happy House on Butterfly Hill in yet another of South Carolina's major metropolitan area, scenic Hartsville .. suggested route is 151 (toward Florence) to BR 151 to Hartsville. This is no more than 30 minutes from McBee (even doing the speed limit) they tell me.

Heading from McBee, on 151 toward 20, look for a Shell station and Subway at a stop light. Turn right at that light, go through Kelleytown, past the Baptist Church.....Hillcrest Road is the first paved road on the right after that church.

Approximately 2/10 ths of a mile on Hillcrest, there should be an opening, just before the first house on the left. The Happy House on Butterfly Hill is about 1200 feet from the paved road. I have been told that if we somehow miss Hillcrest road, shortly after that we will see the Ashland Mini Mart.....whoops! Go back. If totally lost at this point, you might be eligible for a prize, should we decide to offer one for the MINI that had the most trouble getting here! Also, the Mini Mart phone is 332-3407.
