MinCoop Road Rally Raleigh - August 11, 2007
Hey all, my boyfriend, Domino, is a special events professional who has put together road rallies in Florida and would like to get one going in the Triangle area for MINI's! This concept is a way for all MINI owners to meet up for a fun time that is only as competitive as you want it to be! Check out the teaser below for an idea of what is in store.
We'd love to host participants from all over, and lodging/camping information will be provided as we solidify the details of start location(s), etc. Please respond to this thread if you are interested in participating so we can get an idea of how many participants to expect.
If you are a vendor that is interested in donating any prizes for this event, please let me know.
MinCoop Road Rally Raleigh Teaser
Car Rallies are scavenger, treasure and puzzle hunts all combined. The MINCOOP R3 will be all this and more. Crews of 2 to 4 will pile into MINI COOPERS and navigate, solve puzzles, find clues and get items in a time (not speed) intensive race around the Triangle.
The objective is to spend 2 to 3 hours driving around the Triangle and accomplishing things – and therefore getting awarded points - off a predetermined list of adventures. The last part of the MinCoop R3 puzzle will be to find the final destination. Prizes and Merriment will ensue.
No precision work or intense competition, just a fun and unique experience that will be both a creative endeavor and build team “dynamix”.
What to expect? Checkpoints, crazy and scenic routes, visual clues, a digital photo hunt, themed fun, trivia, mysteries, use of general knowledge of the Triangle area, items to retrieve from local merchants. Mission Impossible and More! The many types of Rallies that are out there may or may not be a part of the MinCoop R3. You’ll have to wait and see.
Housekeeping:
This event will not be sponsored by any individual or organization.
Mature drivers with license and insurance only will be at the wheel.
Speeding, stealing, vandalism, or any and all disruptive behavior is prohibited and all Crews should sign a fair play oath and waiver of liability to begin the event.
Prizes may be donated by companies but this does not constitute the donor being an agent of any activities or outcomes of those who voluntarily choose to participate in the MinCoop R3.
Hey, everyone just wants to enjoy the MINIs, be safe and have a great time.
No entry fees or start locations have been set at this time, but we will update this thread as these things are determined.
We hope you'll join us for the fun!

Bumping this up, even though I know this forum is pretty quiet. This event will not require local knowledge for participation, so you you are concerned about not being familiar with the area, do not worry. Also, this is not a club-centric event, but is open to all clubs and pretty much anyone who is interested in having MINI-themed fun!
