October 6th Gathering

If everything goes smoothly, and Charlie willing, I will have a BRG-painted dash to install soon.
When I was emailing with Charlie about my installing it I asked if he would be interested in eating free pizza and hanging out for moral support, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that it would be great to have any MINI-ers who were interested over.

I'll provide pizza, and entertainment in the form of dash removal, as well as assorted MINI and Mini videos, books, mags, etc... as well as a place to hang out and not irritate other people with nothing but Mini talk.

I live in White Bear Lake, a pleasant jaunt from anywhere, and would only need fair warning on how many people might or might not show up.

October 6th after say 6:00pm til whenever.

Let me know by PM or here or passenger pigeon.

puck 09-26-2004 12:44 PM

4 people so far. I think that means were still on for Green Mill.

puck 10-04-2004 05:00 PM

I posted this in the Colors thread, but it should rightly go in here. I just picked these up on the way home from work. Tomorrow the Alta pulley gets installed, and then Wednesday this dash goes in, hopefully without incident. :eek2:

Very cool! Was it tough to match the paint color or is that from the dealer/factory. I'd love to indulge in the pizza with you, but I'll be finalizing the scavenger hunt for this weekend.

Are you doing the pulley yourself? 15% or 19%?? Any other mods you have? Maybe you can give test rides after the pulley is in!!

Puck:

Where in WBL are you? My wife is from Vadnais Heights (though we live in Trempealeau, WI now). We're up in the Cities every few weekends visiting. We'd love to meet up with some other MINI owners.

Had it done at Collision Center, where Motorwerks has their stuff painted, so dealer BRG.

If you find you can swing by for a bit feel free. Zak is going to be there with his Machine

15% pulley. Orr Autosport is doing it as I type. Test rides will certainly be available. I wish that I had a chance to try one out, but I'd heard enough positive reviews I figured it was worth doing.

Oh, and Dave & Stacy, I live just northwest of downtown WBL by Bald Eagle Lake.

Cool! We'll have to keep an eye on this forum for happenings on weekends we are up in your area.

If anyone has an interest in rallying (Stage Rally or TSD), let us know. We can get you information on local (and not so local) events. There is a HUGE rally crowd in the Twin Cities.

Yep my MACHINE will be there as always, btw do you know of any place where I can wash the Mini? It's really dirty, especially brake dust from my latest autocross and some overspray ever since I moved here. If so that would be great, hmmm....maybe I should add my last wax before the winter comes.

Sorry, didn't realize it was bold and caps :o

I'm a bad person and use our local touchless wash at Freedom after spraying the wheels with Meguiars wheel cleaner. Usually works ok for me, but I'm no perfectionist when it comes to that stuff.

In your driveway or street!!

Unfortunately I'm similar to Puck. I usually take the MINI to a touchless wash or do it myself. Mostly the touchless.

Front wheels? Mine are black and the rears white. 2 years old, over 58k miles and still having a blast driving!

Maximusmini 10-05-2004 11:35 AM

Ummm....perhaps you forget I live in a Dorm at Augsburg College right now? I wish I had an apartment or a house that I was renting with a few friends. But nope.

adame 10-05-2004 11:36 AM

Even better - Neighborhood BIKINI MINI wash! he he..

Maximusmini 10-05-2004 11:39 AM

hehe, I wish, although I would like to see some of the girls here in a bikini do a car wash.. NOT ON MY CAR! well tell ya what, I'm the only person who washes my car, no one else. You may add advice but thats about it. Besides my younger brother, whom I hire for the dirty work I.E. the wheels. and the engine bay...hmmmmmmmmmm................

Maximusmini 10-06-2004 12:26 PM

Ok, So who's all going? HURRY UP AND POST YOUR RESPONSE PLEASE!!

puck 10-06-2004 12:35 PM

Me! Me! I'll be there!

Maximusmini 10-06-2004 12:37 PM

Maximusmini 10-06-2004 12:49 PM

Actually, yeah, that's the one. I was planning on waiting to see how many people were going to be there and then sending someone off to pick it up. Unless of course people preferred Dominos... I figured there would probably be at least one person who felt like taking at least on of the MINI's out for a spin

Maximusmini 10-06-2004 02:51 PM

I wouldn't mind going out to get the pizza, Just give me some directions, heck someone may be able to ride along in the MACHINE if they felt so, I have room for 3 other people, but preferrably one. I could do some roller coaster rides! Oh...hmmm maybe you should pay me for a roller coaster ride incase I get a ticket.

puck 10-06-2004 03:59 PM

Excellent! See, just have a little faith and good things will happen :D

I'm home BTW and eating some chips to sustain me until pizza time. :)

puck 10-06-2004 09:44 PM

Marvelous. Half a dozen MINI's in my driveway.

Here's what I have to show for the evening (best shot I could get at night in the garage):

adame 10-07-2004 06:04 AM

Silly me! I just reread the whole thread and I think the Greenmill you visited is RIGHT by my work. Is it nestled in with a Country Inn, next to a Sinclair station and across the street from a car dealership? I work in the building behind Greenmill. Funny!
